Flowers




Is it weird to buy flowers for myself? Even if it is I think I might do it. The other day my mum put a rose from the garden in a single rose vase on my dressing table for when I got home, how cute? Now that it's dying I want to replace it with something bigger and better. It seems like an it-girl thing to always have fresh flowers around the house doesn't it?

Hot and Sweaty

My summer goal of being an all round better person has been getting off to a slow start. My eating rules have been testing me and I have yet to do any type of exercise except for walking, which at the minute I am counting as exercise because I need to keep some kind of self esteem. But the time has come where I have to decide what I'm going to do. This is a bit tricky at the moment because I'm between 2 homes which means I'm really going to have to commit to a gym. Something I tried back in September was Bikram Yoga, the one where they put you in a boiling hot room and make you stretch and breathe for an hour and 45 minutes. It was tough, I'm not going to lie. But I think it was worth it. Obviously this is top of my list of exercise classes I would want to do (this list is essentially 2 things long because I really hate exercise classes) but there is a catch, it's super expensive and I'm worried I'll wimp out and not go enough to make it worth it. What do you think? Should I make this commitment?

Also, I need to start doing exercise because I have a sassy pair of pink and black nikes sitting in my room and not getting used!

P.S I do NOT look like this when I'm doing yoga.... but if I actually go and do yoga then theres the potential that I could. This should be incentive enough.

Facing Facts

One of the many reality t.v shows I have indulged in over the years is 'The City', spin-off of the classic 'The Hills'. Obviously I was into Whitney, who wasn't? She was cute and had glowing skin and her fall on national t.v was only endearing. There was one character however who I hated, who bothered me more than most other reality show bad girls. The girl in mention is of course Miss Palermo. I didn't even love to hate her, I just hated her. A while back when a friend said she thought Olivia Palermo was almost perfect I was flabbergasted, of course I kept to my morals and argued my case of why she was definitely not perfect. But I've recently realised that perhaps ... she is. I mean maybe it's just because 'The City' has been cancelled for a while and I've not had to watch her to her sneaky tricks to make Whitney's life more difficult in the ELLE offices, or maybe it's just because she's pretty freaking great. I decided to investigate my feelings further. I knew I loved her style, I mean just take a look...





But then I decided that to be able to make an educated decision I needed to hear her speak again. I needed footage. So I found some.... and I didn't hate her. I mean it didn't hurt that her dashing bf featured heavily.. but maybe I'm warming to Olivia Palermo. I never thought I'd see this day.

Burger & Lobster

My super cute boyfriend surprised me after work with an even cuter dinner at Burger & Lobster. Does Lobster count as a healthy meal... when it comes with chips..... and you pour garlic butter all over it? I'm going with yes at the minute.

Breakfast


A healthy breakfast to start the day is essential. I can not skip breakfast when I am working. I mixed strawberry and natural low fat yoghurt, and added grated and sliced apple, kiwi, raisins and oats on top.

I'm going to burn..



I spent my weekend at home and in the sun! Perfect. But seriously my pale English skin can not handle it.

re: the summer rules

Not even a day after I had posted about my summer rules for keeping healthy and slim was I hit with a massive challenge I did not see coming. This was employment. In my head I thought if I actually had a job I would be too busy to even think about food but I was wrong. I think that potentially even today I broke ALL the rules. I definitely bought a chocolate bar, my cardinal rule number 1 and I said yes to a sweet treat, I drank a full fat coke, I didn't eat any fruit, I drank minimal water and have definitely just had a snack for the sake of it. 

This is harder than I thought. I'm giving myself the excuse that I've been tires/too busy to be healthy but its a poor one. 


To make things worse this is looking me dead in the eye....

It's Summer Now




So it was hot here in London today, finally! I feel like I have seen the sun since last summer. I was of course totally unprepared for the heat and potentially got burnt. I'm going to step up my game now summer has arrived and I can actually buy things other than boots and jumpers. Although tomorrow I start a little temp work so will be sat in an office all day, not great timing.

I hate exercise


Ok, so the start of the summer has come and I still haven't got my act together when it comes to the aim of a banging beach bod. Obviously the body is the goal but being healthy is too. So far I've outlined a few rules to keep me in check:-

NEVER buy a chocolate bar (my vice is chocolate)
Only eat when you’re actually hungry (I tend to shnack... a lot)
Say NO if people offer you sweet treats (A toughie I know)
Drink more water
Exercise AT LEAST 3 times a week (3 may not sound a lot, but guys I'm going from zero times a week)
Eat more fruit

Losing a little weight but TONING and keeping healthy is even more important. I'm starting off with these rules but I will figure out a proper exercise regime and as I'm starting from essentially scratch I'll add to it each week so by the time my holiday comes I should be a pro! ..... I hope 

So that I don't get lazy, I'm sending my rules to my it-girl friend who I know will keep me in check! Moral support/someone to tell you it straight it essential.

Dilema





Urgh. So I'm in a dilema...short vs long. I have long hair right now but these 2 pics of short hair have been tempting me. I love them. But can I give up the dream of Kardashian-like long locks? This is a toughie.





My summer began this week and it's going to be packed with all of the above, internship, job hunting, holidays so I need to get my shit together. Asap. Hopefully if I can get it together this summer and be an all round perfect gal. On the blog, while I'm striving for this pretty high end result of perfection, I'll share my experience and inspirations of what it means to be an all round it-girl. Stay tuned!
